Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

shouldIApply ("we", "our", the "Service") is built to help job seekers, and we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains — in plain language — what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

The short version

What we collect

Information you provide:

Information collected automatically:

What we store — and what we don't

We do not store your resume or job descriptions. When you run a scan, the text is sent for analysis, the result is generated, and the source text is discarded — it is not saved to our database.

We do store a summary of each scan result tied to your access code — for example, the job title, match score, verdict, and analysis summary — so you can view your scan history. This summary never includes your full resume or the full job description.

How your resume is processed

To analyze your resume against a job description, the content is sent to Anthropic, a trusted third-party AI provider, which processes it to generate your result. This content is used only to produce your analysis and is not used to train AI models. We do not retain the content after your result is generated.

How we use your information

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service — such as our AI processing provider (Anthropic), our hosting and database providers, and analytics — and only as needed to operate the Service. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

Resume and job-description text is not retained beyond generating your result. Scan-result summaries and your access code are retained so the Service works for you; we keep the most recent scans per code and remove older ones over time. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).

Your privacy rights (including in Canada)

We operate with Canadian privacy expectations (such as PIPEDA) in mind. You have the right to:

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we'll respond promptly.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we minimize risk by collecting as little as possible and by not storing your resume or job-description content.

Children

The Service is intended for job seekers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
